New Lenox, IL, January 16, 2019 – Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital announces the official opening will take place in late January 2019. Silver Oaks is a comprehensive psychiatric hospital providing inpatient and outpatient services for mental health and chemical dependency care.
Initially, Silver Oaks will be opening with the Monarch Program, a specialized treatment program for senior adults. The 25-bed Senior Adult psychiatry program provides care for older adults struggling with Mental Health and/or Chemical Dependency problems.
The realities of suicide completions in the elderly are staggering. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 75.4 million baby boomers. If elderly suicide rates remain the same, that means that more than 11,000 lives will be lost to suicide annually as baby boomers reach 65 and older. Suicide is an important problem among older adults. Suicide rates are particularly high among older men, with men ages 85 and older having the highest rate of any group in the country. Suicide attempts by older adults are much more likely to result in death than among younger persons.
Silver Oaks offers a no-cost assessment to determine what level of care is best for each individual. Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital understands the senior population faces health conditions and life situations specifically associated with aging. Silver Oaks has created an environment that is just for Senior Adults; a supportive setting where they can feel safe to express their feelings, share their experiences and focus on feeling better.
The Monarch Program will offer caring and nurturing treatment for suicidal behaviors, anxiety, depression, loss and grief, PTSD, help processing significant life changes, trauma-related experiences and many others. Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital uses evidence-based modalities that are proven to be effective in the treatment of mental health conditions.
Under the direction of Dr. Jyoti Randhawa, Chief Medical Officer of Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital, patients will receive the most modern psychiatric care that is currently available. The hospital will also work closely with medical providers to ensure effective integration of mental and physical health care. Silver Oaks will add additional services to meet the community’s needs.
